GROW YOUR SHIRT
GROW YOUR SHIRT WAS CREATED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE SEMINAR "FASHION EXHIBITION EXPERIMENTS" WITH THE FOCUS ON SUSTAINABILITY. THIS EXHIBITION OBJECT ADDRESSES THE TOPIC OF WASTE DISPOSAL OF CLOTHING AND AT THE SAME TIME EXPLORES SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVES. CLAIRE O'SULLIVAN MADE USE OF HER FAVOURITE GREEN T-SHIRT BY SEWING A SUSTAINABLE VERSION OF HEMP FABRIC AND COTTON YARN. GROW YOUR SHIRT CONSISTS EXCLUSIVELY OF USED MATERIALS. IT CONSISTS OF A RAISED BED WITH WHICH YOU CAN GROW A T-SHIRT. GIVE-AWAY-BAGS HANG DOWN FROM THE BED FILLED WITH SEEDS OF HEMP AND COTTON ALSO FOR THE PUBLIC TO TAKE AWAY AND ACTIVELY PROMOTE THE CYCLE. AT THE TOP ARE VARIOUS PLANTS AND A DESCRIPTION ON SEED PAPER. THE SUSTAINABLE T-SHIRT IS PRESENTED AS A PLANT, GROWING FROM THE SEEDS TO BECOME A PRODUCT OF THE BED.
